When I attempt to run some TCL commands using the ChipScope TCL engine, an error message appears:

How do I work around this issue?

Solution

You do not need to re-install. This issue is usually related to how your environment is setup.

Ensure that your %XILINX% and %CHIPSCOPE% environment variables point to a valid install.

Also, ensure that they are correctly set in your %PATH% and %LD_LIBRARY_PATH% environment variables.
