AR# 33819 ISE Simulator (ISim) - ERROR: Target size 3160144 and source size 6 do not match

Description

I am encountering size mismatch errors on a simulation that runs successfully in other 3rd party simulators. I am using the -rangecheck switch in the ISim compiler (fuse).

How can I resolve this issue?

Solution

This is a known issue in all updates of ISE Design Suite 11.

To work around this issue in ISE Design Suite 11, disable the range check switch. The simulation will work as expected.

This issue has been fixed in ISE Design Suite 12.1.
