LogiCORE IP Image Processing Pipeline Cores - "ERROR:sim - An IP generation script exited abnormally. Error found during generation." or "ERROR:Sim - assertMcrCacheRoot : Temp environment variable set is too long ..."

Description

Errors similar to the following occur when I try to generate: 

"ERROR:sim - An IP generation script exited abnormally.Error found during generation. Closed project file." 
"ERROR:Sim - assertMcrCacheRoot : Temp environment variable set is too long : C:\DOCUME~1\willgar\LOCALS~1\Temp. Please set it to a path less than 10 characters in length e.g. c:/temp" 

Why do I receive these errors?

Solution

These errors can occur under the following conditions: 

• The user did not install the DSP Tools, when installing 11.4 (The DSP Tools are automatically installed in 12.1 and later).  You can reinstall the IDS software and the default will automatically install the DSP Tools.
• The user does not have a license, or the license is not detected. You can use the "View License Status" link in the CORE Generator software to check the status of your license. 
• The TEMP and TMP environment variables are not setup correctly. You should point to a directory close to the root (e.g., C:/temp or /tmp). 
• Set to a path that is less than 10 characters in length (e.g., C:/temp or .tmp).
