AR# 34657 Virtex-6 FPGA Connectivity Kit TRD - PCI-e only trains to Gen1

Description

The Virtex-6 FPGA Connectivity Kit TRD fails to configure as PCI-e Gen2 and only trains as Gen1, regardless of the number of times the PC is rebooted.

How can the TRD train as Gen2?

Solution

If the PCI-e link does not train to Gen2, you must power cycle the board to re-initialize the link training. This issue is only seen when directly configuring the FPGA and not when configured through the PROM.
