When I run PAR with -power and -smartguide enabled at the same time, the following error occurs:
"ERROR:Par:276 - Power optimization/reduction cannot be run in the selected flow for this software release. The combination of options "-power" and modular design or partial reconfiguration are not presently compatible. Please resolve this conflict before proceeding."
How can I solve this issue?
This is a known issue; the error is incorrectly issued in this situation. The -power and -smartguide options should work well together in PAR. This has been fixed in ISE software 11.4 and later.
In ISE software versions prior to 11.4, the work-around is to run MAP with -smartguide, and run PAR with -power but without -smartguide. All guiding work when SmartGuide technology is enabled is done in the MAP process. Running PAR without -smartguide does not cause guiding to not occur, but it does prevent creation of the detailed guide report file.
For detailed information about SmartGuide technology, refer to the Command Line Tools User Guide.
