AR# 35014 11.x iMPACT - Spartan-3AN - After programming the flash, I cannot assign a bit file to the device

Description

After programming the Flash on my Spartan-3AN device, iMPACT will not allow me to assign a new bitstream to the device. How doI work around this issue?

Solution

After programming the flash, iMPACT sees the Spartan-3AN FPGA as a configuration PROM and will not allow a bit file to be assigned. To work around this issue, delete the JTAG chain and re-initialize. You can then assign a bit file. This issue will be resolved in iMPACT 12.2.
