12.1 CORE Generator - Aurora core fails to generate on RHEL5 machine with 32bpp color depth

A user attempts to generate Aurora core on RHEL5 machine with 32bpp color depth.
The generation phase gets to 99% complete and then hang forever.

32bpp is not a valid color depth for Linux machines, but some ATi Linux cards incorrectly allow it.

CORE Generator does not support this configuration since 32bpp is not a valid color depth for Linux machines.  However, CORE Generator should be able to detect the problem and prevent a hang condition.

To resolve the issue change the X11 color depth from 32bpp to 24bpp.
Changing color depth is a setting in the xorg.conf file and editing that file requires root access.
