Spartan-6 - How do I keep GENERAL 1~5 registers untouched during a soft reboot?

Description

Spartan-6 FPGA Configuration User Guide states contents of GENERAL Registers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are untouched during a soft reboot. However, after I issue an IPROG command, the contents of the registers are all "0".

How do I keep the contents?

Solution

The BitGen option "-g next_config_register_write:Disable" should be used while generating the multiboot bit to prevent the GEN registers and the Mode_REG register from be overridden. By default, all of these registers are cleared by the multiboot image, andeven a warm boot occurs.
