In ISE Design Suite 12.1, Multi-Threading is available for both MAP and Place & Route (PAR) when implementing Spartan-6, Virtex-5, and Virtex-6 FPGA designs. However, in Project Navigator, the -mt (Enable Multi-Threading) option is set to OFF and greyed out in both the MAP and PAR Process Properties.
Is there a way to enable multi-threading in Project Navigator 12.1?
The -mt option is incorrectly disabled in ISE Design Suite 12.1. This issue is resolved in ISE Design Suite 12.2.
To enable multi-threading in ISE Design Suite 12.1, you can enter "-mt 2" in the "Other Map Command Line Options" dialog box.
NOTE: The -mt option for both MAP and PAR specifies whether to use multiple processors to enable multi-threading capabilities. When set to OFF, one processor is used. When set to 2, two processors are used. By default, this property is set to OFF.
