AR# 37044: ChipScope - Some ways to change the signal names in the ChipScope Pro analyzer
ChipScope - Some ways to change the signal names in the ChipScope Pro analyzer
In the Chipscope Proanalyzer, all of the signals in every core have generic names by default. There are some ways to replace the default names with meaningful ones.
By renaming the signals manually
You can rename the signals in the ChipScope Pro analyzer GUI by right-clicking on the signals and selecting "rename". You can also modify the signals order, create bus, and so on. All the modifications can be saved into the ChipScope Pro project file (.cpj). Then, you can reload the signal names, signals order, and signal buses by opening the ".cpj" file in theChipScope analyzer.
By importing theCDC file
The customized signal namescan bedefinedin the CDC file. The signal names can be changed to the customized ones by importing the CDC file in ChipScope Pro analyzer.
ChipScope Pro Core Inserter Flow
In Core Inserter flow, the signal names are written into the CDC file automatically. The CDC fileis automatically selected if it is found in the same directory as the configuration BIT file. If the CDC file and the BIT file are not in the same directory, user needs to import CDC file manually.
