Chipscope Analyzer - How to avoid Chinese characters being included in exported VCD format

Description

In ChipScope Analyzer, I selected to export VCD but always see Chinese characters in header.

For example,

$date
<chinese characters>19, 2010 09:00:42
$end
$version
ChipScope Pro Analyzer 11.4 L.68 (Build 11400.9.314.1224)
$end
$timescale
1ns
$end

This resulted in the VCD unrecognized by debussy tool. I had to manually delete the string.

Is there any way to avoid this?

Solution

It has something to do with your system settings. Chinese characters are seen in $date when you set regional options to "China".

Changing it to "English" enables output with English words. This option can be found at Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options.
