13.1 EDK - How do I disconnect my AXI cache lines?

Description

Base System Builder automatically uses and connects caches. How do I disconnect my AXI cache lines?

Solution

If you do not need your caches in MicroBlaze:

1. Double-click on the MicroBlaze instance.
2. Select the Advanced button in the MicroBlaze Configuration Wizard.
3. Select the Cache tab.
4. De-select the "Enable Instruction Cache" and "Enable Data Cache" check boxes.
5. Click the OK button.
6. Make an axi4lite slave connection to your external memory.
7. Delete the axi4 interconnect that used to be connected to your external memory.

Your design should now be ready to implement.
