EDK 12.3 - Is it possible to use the XMD command to return values in binary format in a Tcl file?

Description

In my design, when I use the xmd command in a Tcl file, the values returned are all ASCII.

Is it possible to have the data returned in binary?

Solution

The xmd command is designed to return values which can be printed on an XMD terminal, so it is fixed to be ASCII.

You can use the Tcl command below to convert the ASCII to binary:
set binData [binary format c* $datablk]
