LogiCORE IP Video Scaler v3.0, v4.0 - Why does the Video Scaler always generate for four phases, when Constant mode is selected?

Description

Why does the Video Scaler v3.0 always generate for four phases, when Constant mode is selected?

Solution

The problem is that the Video Scaler Core GUI is passing the wrong parameters to the HDL, causing it to always use the default value of four phases.

This issue applies to the Video Scaler v3.0 and Video Scaler v4.0.

This is a known issue that only affects the pcore interface, and has been fixed in the Video Scaler v5.0.

For older releases:

  • This issue has been fixed in the Video Scaler v3.0 Rev2 patch. To obtain the patch, see (Xilinx Answer 37799).
  • This issue has been fixed in the Video Scaler v4.0 Rev1 patch. To obtain the patch, see (Xilinx Answer 41488).
