LogiCORE IP Color Filter Array Interpolation (CFA) v3.0 and v4.0 - Does the CFA affect the original Bayer pattern input data?

Description

Does the CFA affect the original Bayer pattern input data?

Solution

The algorithm used in the Color Filter Array Interpolation (CFA) v3.0 and v4.0 interpolates only the missing R,G,B samples, and leaves the original samples unmodified.

However, to improve zipper effect suppression on the CFA output, it does have an adaptive, horizontal low-pass filter on the output.
