Solution

Xilinx software applications (including XLCM) look for FLEX licenses in the locations and order listed in the following table:

  • The location of %HOMEDRIVE%\.xilinx on a Windows Operating Systems; this is typically C:\.xilinx
  • The entries in the environment variablescan be files, directories, and/or PORT@HOST values.
  • Directories will be searched for *.lic
  • Licenses found in the same directory are searched in alphabetical order.
  • License features within a single file are searched in the order in which they appear in a license file.
  • The XLCM Manage Xilinx Licenses tab has a search order column that numbers each license key according to the precise order in which it was located.

    Note: The search order does notnecessarily determine what license will be used first when there are multiple licenses for the same feature. See (Xilinx Answer 44024) for the rules of license precedence.
