LogiCORE IP Video Scaler v4.0 - What are the valid values for the aperture_start_pixel and the aperture_end_pixel?

What are the valid values for the aperture_start_pixel and the aperture_end_pixel?

In the LogiCORE IP Video Scaler v4.0 data sheet on page 8, it states that the "aperture_start_pixel" and the "aperture_end_pixel" must be set to an even number. 

However, in the v4.0 user guide on pages 39 and 40, odd values are used as examples for both the "aperture_start_pixel" and for the "aperture_end_pixel."

Solution

The following applies to the Video Scaler v3.0 and v4.0.
 
  • The Start Pixel must always start on an even number (when counting from pixel 0).
    i.e., Start Pixel =  0, 2, 4, 6 ... 720, 722, ... etc.
     
  • The End Pixel must always end on an odd number (when counting from pixel 0).
    i.e., End Pixel = 719, 7 21, ... 1919, 1921 ... etc.
     
  • The total number of pixels between the Start and End Pixel should be an even number (when counting from 1).
    i.e., Total apertures size = 720, 1280, 1080, 1920, etc.
