AR# 42512 13.x/14.x iMPACT - Indirect Programming with Digilent Cable Causes iMPACT Tool Crash

While performing SPI/BPI Indirect programming with the Digilent Cable included with my KC705, the iMPACT tool crashes. Subsequent programming attempts with this cable and other cables also crash. How do I work around this issue?

This issue will occur when the programming frequency is set to 30 MHz. After the crash, the Digilent cable will still have the 30 MHz setting embedded in its firmware. To work around this issue:
  1. Power cycle the cable.
  2. Carry out subsequent programming attempts with this cable at a lower frequency.

This can occur for the cable embedded on the KC705 board or a standalone cable.
