M1.5: WARNING:basts:158 - PERIOD TIMESPEC 'xxx' has TIMEGRP 'xxx' which contains only PAD elements. Or mixture of PADs and synchronous elements.

Description

General Description:

WARNING:basts:158 - PERIOD TIMESPEC 'TS_gclk1' has TIMEGRP 'gc1_grp' which contains only PAD elements. This capability will soon be obsoleted as it has been replaced by the TNM_NET constraint.

WARNING:basts:157 - PERIOD TIMESPEC 'TS_gclk' has

TIMEGRP 'gc1_gr[' which contains a mixture of PADs and

synchronous elements. The PADs in this group will be exempt from

analysis by the trce application. The ability to mix PADs and

synchronous elements in a PERIOD group will soon be obsoleted.

Solution

This warning was intended to be a feature, and is not a bug. The

warnings are generated because the user is using a TNM on the

net before the BUFG, rather than the new TNM_NET constraint.

If you use TNM_NET, the warnings will go away. The PERIOD

constraint is changing in 2.1i, to not include the PAD elements

in the period constraint. The period constraint will only cover

from synchronous elements to other synchronous elements.

For information on TNM_NET and PERIOD see the Developmental

Reference Guide in the On-line Docs.
