4.2i Foundation - Which project flow type should be used for top-level ABEL designs?

Keywords: ABEL, schematic, flow, top-level, XABEL

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
Two project flow types exist in Foundation Project Manager: Schematic and HDL.

Which project type should be used for top-level ABEL designs?

When you create a top-level ABEL design, the Foundation project flow type should be set to "Schematic." While the HDL flow may seem more appropriate, that flow is actually intended only for use with VHDL or Verilog top-level designs.

Once the project has been created with a project flow type of Schematic, be sure to "add" the ABEL file to the project by either selecting Document --> Add in the Project Manager, or by choosing Project --> Add to Project from within the HDL Editor.
