ChipScope - Captured Signals are Different from Those Seen on the Oscilloscope

Description

When probing signals with both the ChipScope Analyzerand an oscilloscope, the signals are different in the Chipscope Analyzeras compared to those seen on the oscilloscope. What is causing this behavior?

Solution

This issue can sometimes be caused by signal integrity issues from TCK.Make sure that you follow the Xilinx TCK termination guidelines as documented in the configuration user guide for the device family thatyou are using.

Since the data from the FPGA is sent to your computer over JTAG, if there are any signal integrity (SI) problems with the JTAG signals, double clocking might occur, which causes the Chipscope Analyzer to display conflicting data other than what is registered on inside of the device.
