MIG Spartan-6 MCB - MCB Hard Calibration

Description

The MCB performs the hard calibration step to determine the correct read window for data capture with DQS during memory reads.

Solution

Afterthe input calibration phase and the DQS centering phase, the soft calibration logic passes control to the MCB to perform the hard calibration step. The hard calibration determines the proper window to enable the DQS signal for data capture during reads from the memory. This gates any tri-state noise on DQS and enables the sampling of the DQ data with the DQS strobes.During this phase, the MCB writes a xFF00 pattern to memory location x0000 and continuously reads it back.At the end of this step, the MCB asserts the MCB_UODONECAL signal and passes control back to the soft calibration logic to perform the continuous DQS tuning phase.
