AR# 44624 Virtex-5, GTP/GTX IBERT CORE Generator - IBERT Sweep Test of PREEMPHASIS Does Not Work

Description

Using the GTP IBERT CORE Generator tool with a Virtex-5 device, the sweep tests for TXPREEMPHASIS do not work.

Sweeping the available options for TXPREEMPHASIS will not cause a change to the attribute and a change in the observed error rate will not be seen.

Solution

Manually changing the TXPREEMPHASIS setting in the IBERT GUIdoes change the setting for the GT.The suggested workaround is to manually select the TXPREEMPHASIS setting prior to running the sweep test. A sweep of any other desired attributes/ports can be performed.This requires that a different sweep test be performed for each value of TXPREEMPHASIS that needs to be tested.
