13.3 PlanAhead - Importing partition results in "ERROR:NGDBuild:1218" and "ERROR:NGDBuild:1037" due to XST Import on Windows

If I import a partition using the PlanAhead software, NGDBuild issues the following errors:

"ERROR:NgdBuild:1218 - 'RAMB36E1' dedicated resource pin ' ' on instance ' ' is used in this implementation, but is not used in the previous implementation."

"When this dedicated resource is connected across a Partition boundary, changes to the driver will cause this difference in the imported Partition. Ensure the drivers are the same in each iteration, or re-implement and export Partition."

These errors are accompanied by the following error:

"ERROR:NgdBuild:1037 - The logic for imported Partition ' ' using previous implementation '.ngd' has been modified. This situation can occur when the source for the Partition was modified but the Partition was not re-implemented and exported. You must re-implement and export the Partition before it can be imported into this design."

This problem is specific to importing partitions in 13.3 XST on all Windows platforms. The issue is a corrupt attribute in the NGC file that only affects the PlanAhead software.

To work around this issue, use the command line flow.

A patch for PlanAhead 13.3 software is also available from the following link:

This issue is resolved in the PlanAhead 13.4 software.
