13.x ISE Simulator - Reading of third-party binary files fails after value of all zeros is read

Description

Reading of third-party binary files (e.g., TIFF, JPEG) does not work correctly in ISE Simulator 13.x.If you loadthe contents of the binary data file into a memory array, the arrayis populated with all Xs if a value of all 0s is read and for all subsequent values.

Solution

This is a known issue affectingthe ISE Simulator in software versions up to 13.4. The issuewill berepaired in the 14.1 software release.

For now, to work around the issue, you must convert binary files to text files and read them into the ISim simulation. To transfer files back to another simulation tool, output a text file from ISIM, and convert to a binary file if required by the third-party tool.
