Vivado - How do I disable Tcl script command echoing?

When running (sourcing) a Tcl script file from the Tcl console in Vivado, all commands in the file are echoed back to the Tcl console before execution.

This is sometimes not desirable.

How can these messages be suppressed?

The Tcl source command allows the suppression of  Tcl command echoing by using the -notrace option.
For example:
vivado -mode batch -source run.tcl -notrace
