LogiCORE IP SMPTE2022-5/6 Video Over IP Transmitter v1.0 - Do I need to use an external memory if the Forward Error Correction (FEC) option is turned off?

Description

Do I need to use an external memory if the Forward Error Correction (FEC) option is turned off?

Solution

An external memory is not needed if the Forward Error Correction (FEC) option is turned off.

This will be addressed in the SMPTE2022-5/6 Video Over IP Transmitter v2.0, and the external interface will be turned off when the FEC option is not selected.

To work around this in the SMPTE2022-5/6 Video Over IP Transmitter v1.0:

  1. tie all inputs to ground.
  2. leave all outputs open.
