AR# 51222 2012.2 Vivado - License error occurs when generating Top Level HDL Wrapper in Vivado tools


When the Top Level HDL Wrapper for an EDK sub module within the Vivado tool is generated, the following error occurs:

"ERROR: [Edk 24-167] (make_wrapper): Failed to execute XPS script. Please check for any errors reported by the XPS application in the console:
[C:/Cases/subcases/tomoya/vivado_edk/project_1/project_1.srcs/sources_1/edk/system/__xps/pa/_system_top.tcl]"

The Licensing error message is also shown in the Tcl Console in the Vivado tool:
No such feature exists.

How can I fix this issue?


To fix this issue, unzip the "platgen_fix.zip" file that is attached to the end of this answer record:

For Windows, copy the nt and nt64 folders into: %XILINX_EDK%\bin folder

For Linux, copy the lin and lin64 folders into: %XILINX_EDK%\bin folder. In addition, Linux users should ensure that the files deliverd in the patch have the eXecute (+x) permission set.
