LogiCORE IP Tri-Mode Ethernet MAC v5.4 - Frames within 12 bytes of the maximum frame size could get marked bad

Description

If you are using the Tri-Mode Ethernet MAC v5.4 and earlier with the maximum frame size check enabled, frames within 12 bytes of the maximum frame size could get incorrectly marked as bad if the maximum frame size bits [4:2] are greater than "100".

Solution

This issue does not affect cores that are using the legacy non-AXI user interface and does not exist if maximum frame size checking is not enabled.

To work around this problem, you can enable jumbo frames or increase the maximum frame size.

This issue is going to be fixed in Tri-Mode Ethernet MAC v5.5 to be released in ISE 14.4 and Vivado 2012.4 design tools.
