LogiCORE IP Tri-Mode Ethernet MAC v5.5 and earlier - Full Duplex - Incorrect TX Statistics byte count seen for IFG Adjust less than 8

Description

The Tri-Mode Ethernet MAC v5.5 and earlier supports setting the TX IFG Adjust as low as 4 bytes when generated with only Full Duplex support.

When generated for full duplex only (half duplex support not selected), and the TX IFG Adjust is set to less than 8 bytes, the TX statistics byte count will be incorrect.

For each frame sent, the TX statistics byte count will be one larger for each byte less than 8 that the TX IFG Adjust is set to.

Solution

This has been resolved in version 6.0 of the Tri-Mode Ethernet MAC core released in Vivado 2013.1.

If using earlier cores in the ISE software this this issue has been fixed in the attached v5.5rev1 patch to the v5.5 core available in ISE 14.4 and later.

If using v4.6 TEMAC with legacy user interfaces, this issue has been fixed in the v4.6rev3 patch available in (Xilinx Answer 47694).
