2012.4 Vivado - Save Constraints dialog inaccurately suggests that the design is "closing"

Description

If I attempt to save the constraints without applying new design constraints (as in the example below), there is a pop-up "Save Constraints" dialog that indicates I am closing my design.

Example:

  1. Open a project
  2. Open the synthesized design.
  3. Open the constraints editor, modify the period of one of the clocks without applying.
  4. In the TCL console, type the following command:
    % create_clock -period 10 -name <clock name>
  5. Click on the "Save Constraints" button and observe the dialog.

The text in the dialog is as follows:
    "There are uncommitted timing constraints.
Do you want to apply the constraints before closing?"

I want to save the constraints, but the dialog is indicating that I am trying to close something (but, I am not sure what).

Solution

The dialog is inaccurate, it should read as "... before saving".

In Vivado Design Suite 2013.1, the text in the dialog is modified as:

There are uncommitted timing constraints.
Do you want to apply the constraints before saving?
