PetaLinux 2013.10 - I have removed packages from my root filesystem configuration, but they are still present in my system

I have removed packages from my root filesystem configuration in the PetaLinux RootFS menuconfig, but those packages are still included in the system that is built.

When PetaLinux builds a system, it re-uses pre-existing build collateral in order to decrease build time.

If a package was previously included in the root filesystem, it will not be removed unless the PetaLinux rootFS build area (<PETALINUX_PROJ_DIR>/build/linux/rootfs/targetroot) is cleaned first.

To make sure the build area is cleaned, run the following command before performing a system build:

petalinux-build -x distclean
