MIG 7 Series LPDDR2 - How do I configure the output drive strength for LPDDR2?

Description

The MIG GUI does not provide an option to set the output drive strength for an LPDDR2 core like there is for DDR2 and DDR3.

 How do I configure the drive strength for an LPDDR2 core?

Solution

The LPDDR2 controller uses the default value of 40 Ohms for the drive strength.

If you need to change this, you can modify the RTL in the phy_init module:

// -> 4'b0010 => 40 Ohm typical (default)
// -> 4'b0011 => 48 Ohm typical
// -> 4'b0100 => 60 Ohm typical
// -> 4'b0101 => reserved for 68.6 Ohm typical
// -> 4'b0110 => 80 Ohm typical
// -> 4'b0111 => 120 Ohm typical (Optional)
//*****************************************************************

assign lp_load_mr3[3:0] = 4'b0010;
