2013.1 Install - Installer incorrectly determines directory name too long in batch mode

Description

The Vivado 2013.1installer incorrectly reports that my directory name length exceeded the 50 character limit.

ERROR::Thu Mar 14 09:56:07 TZ 2013:: Destination directory
C:\my_eda_tools\fpga\xilinx\test_install_area\Vivado\2013.1
is invalid. Maximum number of characters allowed by Xilinx Installer is 50.
ERROR::Thu Mar 14 09:56:07 TZ 2013:: Installation failed.

The directory I specified in batch mode (C:\my_eda_tools\fpga\xilinx\test_install_area) is less then 50 characters.

The additional portion (\Vivado\2013.1) is added to it by the installer.

The installer in batch mode should not add this last portion when calculating path length.

Solution

The issue was fixed in Vivado 2013.2.

Install path length is limited on Windows OS to avoid 260 character command length issues.

In Vivado 2013.2 the installer only checks the base directory and does not append the package path when calculating install path length.
