2014 Install - Known Issues for the Vivado 2014.x Installer


This answer record lists the known issues for the Installer in the Vivado 2014.x releases.

Changes in the Vivado 2014.1 install

The Vivado Design Suite 2014.1 release features a new Web based installer with additional features.

In particular, it gives the ability to install a partial list of available tools and devices and then add additional devices or tools as needed.

Outstanding Issues in Vivado 2014.4

(Xilinx Answer 60088) - Web Install fails on the Ubuntu 13 OS (unsupported)
(Xilinx Answer 60138) - Login authentication fails with the message "Warning: Unable to validate users private certificate"
(Xilinx Answer 60155) - 32 bit installer crashes when installing on a 64 bit system (unsupported)
(Xilinx Answer 60360) - rdi_xsdkw.exe is incorrectly flagged as Virus / Malware by Symantec and AVG Virus scan tools
(Xilinx Answer 60375) - Vivado 2014.x does not have a fully productized batch install option
(Xilinx Answer 61978) - Vivado installer fails to clean up all files after cancelled install
(Xilinx Answer 62233) - Error Downloading Files: Cannot write to .../payload, if installed from a write protected area

(Xilinx Answer 60111) - "Add Design Tools or Device" does not let me add only post Installation Options
(Xilinx Answer 60410) - xsetup opens splash screen and then exits without an error when an exclamation point is contained in the install path 
(Xilinx Answer 61981) - Install fails if user ID name contains spaces
(Xilinx Answer 62256) - Uninstalling from the Control Panel on Windows XP shows the same file size for Vivado, DocNav and XiC 

Issues resolved in Vivado 2014.2
(Xilinx Answer 60137) - Invalid characters in the system path cause the installer to fail with the message "Error loading native libs"
(Xilinx Answer 60154) - XILINX_VIVADO and LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variables are not set in settings64.bat/sh files
