2014.2 Vivado Timing - Tactical Patch request for an issue that 900ps difference between estimated and routed delays on a RAMB36->FDRE net

Description

An issue has been found in Vivado 2014.2 where there is a 900ps difference between estimated and routed delays on a RAMB36->FDRE net

Due to this issue the placement QoR is degraded in designs that have a RAMB36->FDRE path structure as the tool will not work as hard on other paths.

This Answer Record provides a Tactical Patch for the 2014.2 release to address this issue.

Solution

The Tactical Patch is in the attachment of this Answer Record.

This Tactical Patch is only compatible with Vivado 2014.2 on a Linux 64 bit OS.

Expectations without the patch - Without the patch, the placement QoR is degraded in designs that have a RAMB36->FDRE path structure.
 
Expectations with the patch - with the patch, the overall placement QoR is improved.
