2014.2 Vivado IP Packager - After modifying a top level port name in the source code, the port name in the IP Packager window does not and cannot be updated, why does this occur?

When modifying my current design top level and repackaging the IP using the IP Packager, the port name shown in the "IP Ports and Interfaces" Tab of the IP Packager window has not updated.

Also it is not possible to "Merge changes from IP ports and Interfaces Wizard" to force the update in the GUI.

This problem does not appear to occur on all PCs.

Is it a known issue and is there a workaround?

This has been seen sporadically with Vivado 2014.2 but it does not occur in 2014.3.

In 2014.3, after making the modification to the top level port in the source code and reopening the packager, a "Merge changes from IP Ports and Interfaces Wizard"  message is displayed.

This is highlighted in the below screenshot.

Clicking on the message will update the port to the modified value and remove the message.

As a workaround in 2014.2 Vivado, you can use the following command in the TCL Console:

ipx::merge_project_changes ports [ipx::current_core]
