2014.3 Vivado - "Edit Device Properties" entries silently take invalid value

I select Tools -> Edit Device Properties -> Encryption and enter a value in one of the following fields:
  • HMAC Authentication key
  • AES encryption key
  • CBC value
I then click "OK" and continue with other actions.
If I open the Encryption properties again, there is an empty error box.

If you type the incorrect value for one of the 3 keys and click "OK"an error message is not generated.
The error message is correctly issued if you use the return key, or tab key, or move from entering one value to another.
The Tcl console also shows the correct error message (see example below) but the Edit Device Properties does not show the Error dialog.
set_property BITSTREAM.ENCRYPTION.HKEY garbage_entry [get_designs impl_1]

ERROR: [Netlist 29-37] Cannot set property 'BITSTREAM.ENCRYPTION.HKEY'.

This issue has been fixed in Vivado 2014.4.
