PetaLinux 2014.4 – Zynq PS GPIO clock is disabled after kernel boot

Description

After kernel boot-up, the GPIO clock is disabled.

I have checked SLCR.APER_CLK_CTRL[22] (GPIO_CPU_1XCLKAC) but its 0.

Solution

In the kernel configuration, the Runtime Power Management (runtime_pm) function is enabled by default.

This function suspends the peripheral device when it is idle.

To disable runtime_pm, uncheck the Run-time PM core functionality in the kernel configuration (menuconfig).
