2015.1 Vivado Sysgen - After running Timing Analyzer the incorrect results were opened in the GUI, why?

I have been modifying my Sysgen design and regularly re-running the Sysgen Timing Analysis feature.

However, incorrect timing results are being opened in the GUI.

Why would this occur?

Is this a known issue and can it be avoided?

This is a known issue and occurs due to the iterative manner in which your timing analysis is being run.

If you run Sysgen Timing Analysis on different versions of a design in the same netlist (target) directory, it will result in multiple timing analysis data files, named <design_version>.at, being produced in the target directory.

The Timing Analyzer GUI will use the first .at file it finds in the target directory and this can result in the incorrect file being used.

To avoid this situation, it is considered best practice for each timing analysis flow to be run in different target directories.

This will ensure that the correct .at file is opened in the GUI.

This issue will be resolved in Vivado 2015.3.
