FIR Compiler v7.2: FIR Compiler integer rate decimation filter - corrupt output samples following reset


When the FIR Compiler is configured as an integer rate decimation, the filter outputs might become corrupted following a reset until the data vector is completely flushed.

This will only occur when the core uses the following configuration:

  • Coefficient symmetry
  • Data vector reset
  • Preference of other storage set to Distributed
  • Optimization "Other" selected


This is a known issue with FIR complier core and is expected to fixed in the Vivado 2015.4 release.


  1. Deselect the "Other" optimization option
  2. Set the Preference of other storage to "Automatic"
  3. Deselect the "Data Vector Reset" option
  4. No action, the output sample corrupt is transient and the filter will recover to operate correctly.
