2015.4 SDSoC - Using PetaLinux to build boot files overwriting config files

Description

I am trying to follow the instructions in (UG1146) about using PetaLinux to create the necessary boot files. As part of this I am told to edit the config file:

<project-root>/subsystems/linux/config

However, Petalinux overwrites this file every time I build. How do I get around this?

Solution

Rather than editing the config file directly, you can use the petalinux-config menu and search for the required CONFIG_* attributes that must be set.

Once you are in petalinux-config, enter the "/" key and then enter your keyword.

It will then show you each instance matching your keyword, and it will show you the hierarchy to that item.
