4.1i NGD2VER,NGD2VHDL - What does the "-pms" option do?

Keywords: NGD2VER, -pms

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
What does the "-pms" option do?

Any port (or pin) in the NGD database normally has two connections: one to the parent
signal, and another to the child signal. In most cases, the port and child signal names
are the same.

Up to Alliance 1.4, NGD2VHDL/NGD2VER always forces the port name and the child
signal name to be the same (by renaming the child signal name if they are different); this
is exactly what "-pms" does.

In Alliance 1.5 and above, -pms lets use of this behavior be optional rather than required.
