*Obsolete* 2.1i JTAG Programmer - Unable to open file XBT for writing when programming 9500 devices

Keywords: JTAG Programmer, 2.1i, 3.1i, xbt, writing, 9500

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When configuring a 9500 CPLD, an XBT file is created during the programming stage. This file is created in the same directory that the jedec file is located in. If the jedec file is in a write protected location, the following error will occur:

Processing JEDEC file...ERROR:JTag - Unable to open file '\\path\9500.xbt' for writing. Check if directory has write permission granted to 'all'. Modify
using 'chmod', if necessary. Programming terminated due to errors.

The XBT is created in the same directory as the jedec file is located.

There are currently two ways to work around this issue:
- Gain write access to the directory where the jedec file is located
- Move the jedec file into a directory where the user has write access

This will be resolved in a future software release.
