Setting Partition Levels
The following steps show how to set the Partition preservation level. Changing the preservation level requires setting or modifying the Partition Preserve property to routing, placement, or synthesis.
  1.  Select the Partition you wish to modify on the Hierarchy pane of the Design panel.
  2.  Select Source > Source Properties from the menu, or right-click on the Partition and click Source Properties, then select the Partition category on the Source Properties dialog box.
  3.  In the Property Value field, select the property value.
  4.  Click OK.
  5.  Re-implement the design.
By relaxing the Preserve trait less of the design will be preserved; however, it allows more flexibility when trying to meet timing constraints.
