Viewing Messages and Reports
As the software processes your design, various reports
and messages are generated, which you can view in the Design Summary as
follows.
Note To control which reports and messages appear in
the upper left pane of the Design Summary, see Showing or Hiding
Messages and Reports. To control the information that appears
in the reports and messages in the right pane, see Configuring Messages
and Reports.
To View Messages and Reports
- In the upper left pane of the Design Summary, do any
of the following:
- Click the title for the information you want to view.
- Right-click the title, and select Open Report.
- Right-click the title, and select Open Report in New Tab.
Note To view a report as HTML, click the title and click the View Report as HTML toolbar button
. Alternatively, if the report is already open in the right pane,
you can right-click the report and select View Report as
HTML. By default, HTML files appear in the embedded HTML
browser. - If a message includes a Warning
or Error 
icon, right-click
the message and select Search for Answer Record to search for more information on the Xilinx® website.
Note To close the information in the right pane but keep the Design Summary open,
right-click in the right pane and select Close Report. If you opened the report or message list in a new tab, you can
right-click the tab, and select Close.
