Arranging Panels and Windows
Use the Layout, View, and Window menu commands to arrange panels and windows as follows:
  •  Store and load the layout for the main window, which includes the layout of panels and toolbars.
  •  Show or hide panels, and arrange the location and layout for each panel.
  •  Arrange the layout of windows in the Workspace.
To Arrange Panels and Windows
Arrange panels and windows as follows:
  •  To store and load the layout for the main window, use the Layout menu commands, as described in Setting the Main Window Layout.
  •  To arrange panels, do any of the following:
    •  Use the View > Panels menu commands to control which panels are shown in the main window, as described in Showing and Hiding Panels.
    •  Drag and drop the panels to the left, right, top, or bottom of the Workspace.
    •  Use the control icons in the upper right corner of each panel to control the layout for that panel (for example, whether the panel is floated or docked).
    •  In the Design panel, use the Change Orientation toolbar button (Image or Image) to arrange the Hierarchy and Processes panes.
  •  To arrange windows in the Workspace, select one of the following commands from the Window menu:
    •  New Window - opens another instance of the active window.
    •  Close - closes the active window.
    •  Close All - closes all windows.
    •  Next - activates the next window.
    •  Previous - activates the previous window.
    •  Maximize - maximizes the active window.
    •  Minimize All - minimizes all windows.
    •  Cascade - overlaps all the windows with the active window on top. You can also select the Cascade Windows toolbar button Image.
    •  Tile Horizontally - arranges the windows horizontally as non-overlapping tiles. You can also select the Tile Windows Horizontally toolbar button Image.
    •  Tile Vertically - arranges the windows vertically as non-overlapping tiles. You can also select the Tile Windows Vertically toolbar button Image.
    •  Float - floats the active window. You can also select the Float Window toolbar button Image.
      Note The Dock menu command and Dock Window toolbar button Image are available in the floating window only.
    •  Window List - brings the selected file to the front and make it the active window.
