Using Cut, Copy, and Paste

You can move or copy text or objects from one location to another location as follows.

To Move Text or Objects

Select the text or object to move.
Select Edit > Cut, or click the Cut toolbar button .
The selected text or object is removed from the file and is placed in the clipboard.
Place the cursor in the location to place the text or object. You can highlight text or objects to overwrite.
Select Edit > Paste, or click the Paste toolbar button .

The text or object is moved to the cursor location and replaces any highlighted text or objects.

To Copy Text or Objects

Select the text or object to copy.
Select Edit > Copy, or click the Copy toolbar button .
A copy of the selected text or object is placed in the clipboard.
Place the cursor in the location to place the text or object.
Select Edit > Paste, or click the Paste toolbar button .

A copy of the text or object is copied to the cursor location and replaces any highlighted text or objects.
