Source Properties — Design View Properties Dialog Box
Use this dialog box to verify and edit information about
the selected source file. To access this dialog box, select a source
file in the
Design panel,
Files panel, or
Libraries panel, and select
Source > Source Properties.
- View Association
Specifies the Design View to which the
module is associated. This setting determines which Design View the
source file will appear in when you select a Design View from the
Design View (“Sources for”) drop-down list in the
Design panel. HDL sources can
be associated with
Simulation,
Implementation, or
All. Test bench or simulation models
should be associated with
Simulation only.
For more information on Design Views, see
Using the Design
Views.
Note For simulation source files, including test
benches, you
must ensure that the associated
Design View is set to a Simulation view. Project Navigator automatically
selects the Design View association for simulation source files and
test benches based on the source
file name. For
more information, including how to customize this automatic selection,
see
Test
Benches.
- Include as Global File in Compile List
Forces the selected file to be compiled at the start of the
compile order, both to build the design hierarchy and
to create the .prj file sent to synthesis. This option allows you
to place specific files at the start of the compile order, but allows
the software to automatically determine the compile order for the
rest of the design source files. By default, this option is deselected.
For more information, see
Setting
a Custom Compile Order.
- Source Library
Lists the library with which the selected source file is associated,
for example, the default work library. For more information on libraries,
see
Libraries panel.
