Preferences Dialog Box - ISE General Page
Use this dialog box to set general ISE® preferences. To access this dialog box, select Edit > Preferences, and click ISE General.
  •  Project settings
Specifies general settings for projects, user documents, and the property display level.
    •  Always open last project
Specifies whether the last project you worked on in Project Navigator is opened the next time the software is launched.
Note If the project no longer exists or cannot be found, Project Navigator ignores this setting and opens with the next project from the Recent Projects list. If none of the projects on the Recent Projects list can be found, Project Navigator opens with no project loaded.
    •  Write Project Navigator Log File
Specifies whether to create a log file that contains the output from the Console panel and save it to your working directory. By default, this option is selected, and a log file named projnav.log is generated for the current Project Navigator project session. Each time you open a project, the existing log file is backed up to projnav.old.log, and a new projnav.log is created for the current project session.
    •  Use New Project Wizard
Specifies whether the New Project Wizard or New Project Dialog Box is launched when creating a new project. When this option is selected, the New Project Wizard is used to create a new project and to create and add source files. When this option is deselected, the New Project dialog box is used to create a project only. For more information, see Creating a Project.
    •  Use file associations on user documents
Note This option is available on Windows operating systems only.
Specifies whether non-Project Navigator source file types, such as those with .txt and .doc extensions, are opened in standard Windows applications, such as Microsoft Notepad and Microsoft Word.
When this option is selected, the file is opened in the Windows application that is associated with the file extension. When this option is deselected, the file is opened in the editor specified in the Editors page of the Preferences dialog box. The default editor is ISE Text Editor.
    •  Open Design Summary/Reports when project is opened
Specifies whether to show the Design Summary when you open an ISE project. By default, this option is selected, and the Project Navigator Workspace shows the Design Summary each time a project is opened. For more information about the Design Summary, see the Design Summary Overview.
    •  Open What’s New Document at startup
Specifies whether to show the What’s New file when Project Navigator opens. By default, this option is selected, and the Project Navigator Workspace shows the What’s New file each time Project Navigator opens.
    •  Property display level
Specifies whether to show standard or advanced properties in the various process properties dialog boxes.
      •  Standard
Shows all of the standard properties and their default values in the process properties dialog boxes.
      •  Advanced
